One of Sly & Robbie’s most cherished productions, presented here in its original dubplate form. Back in August 1980, this raw version of the haunting, lovelorn classic began circulating on dub, stripped of the synthesizer and syndrum elements that later defined the official release. Few of these early sound system mixes were ever preserved, so we’re thrilled to have this one unearthed and given it a proper issue. As with previous Viceroys Taxi releases, this captures some of the heaviest sounds of its era - pure, spacious, and heavyweight, just as you might’ve heard Shaka or other top sounds running at the tail end of 1980.
