Operating Theatre - Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth / Rapid Eye Movements

A seriously leftfield piece of Irish electronic history from Roger Doyle’s Operating Theatre project. One side leans into the strange, catchy electro-pop world of 'Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth', while the accompanying 'Rapid Eye Movements' moves into much more abstract territory - field recordings, repetitive electronics and disorientating tape collage inspired by the dream state of REM sleep. Originally connected to Doyle’s early work from the late ’70s and ’80s, this remastered double LP brings together two very different sides of a genuinely unusual project. The limited 2026 repress also comes with a bonus 7" pairing the original 'Spring Is Coming With A Strawberry In The Mouth' with its instrumental version, plus a Morgan Buckley (Wah Wah Wino) MIDI-Suite remix in the wider track selection. Essential for fans of Nurse With Wound, experimental synth music and the more peculiar corners of the Irish underground.
