Heimelektronik & MAS 2008 – Electronic Corporation 1998-2006 brings together a set of long unavailable recordings from the turn of the millennium German electro underground, centered around the work of Ive Müller and René Kirchner. The tracks were originally recorded between 2000 and 2002, and the compilation pulls together material that had previously been tucked away across different Electronic Corporation catalogue releases. There’s a strong sense of classic electro drive running through it, but it never feels overly polished or predictable. Instead, the record has that raw, forward pushing energy that suits both the more mechanical side of the genre and the darker, more spacious bits too, with crisp programming and a real period feel that still lands properly today. It’s exactly the kind of reissue that reminds you how much strong material was quietly circulating in those scenes at the time.
