Best Available Technology’s Kevin Palmer keeps a backpack full of cassette tapes in his car to play at random and in their entirety. The Florist’s Mum release of Inscape Routes is an amalgamation of these long coastal drives, a high moon beaming through the windshield as a reverberating guitar plucking, structured rhythms of the highway’s rumble strips, a red light, and an indicator signalling left all take place within the tonal monastery of this metal box at 60 mph. Best Available Technology reasserts himself as a ruthless pioneer within his own field, a tree-lined pavement between ambience and dub, a dreamy drive down a barren city.
