Third chapter in Vesu’s List of Lizards series, Tokage No Risuto drifts deeper into the dub current than his earlier works on Going Good or Vieno ever did, with tempos eased off and atmospheres thickened into smoky layers of downtempo rhythm, ambient haze, and echo soaked detail. Recorded across bedrooms, basements, high rise flats and even during a fleeting session in Suomenlinna, the album moves with a sense of space and stillness, where guest voices shimmer and dissolve into the mix and Tapani Rinne’s unmistakable woodwind tones add a subtle touch of wonder. Built around the pulse of hardware synths and samplers but shaped with digital precision, it’s Vesu’s at his most immersive, part dub odyssey and part daydream.
