Various Artists - Promise Land: Vocals & Version
Freestyle Records presents Albert "Alchemist" Thompson's Promise Land EP, featuring renowned reggae and dancehall artists Frankie Paul, Joseph Cotton, Prince Malachi, and Anthony John. This musical collection, nurtured over 32 years, is now making its long-awaited debut. Albert Thompson, brother of Peter Chemist, served as chief engineer at the esteemed I&I Sound Recording Studio. He collaborated with influential artists like Dennis Brown, Bunny Wailer, Mighty Diamonds, and Gregory Isaacs. In 1991, during a studio break, Albert created the rhythm track, inspired by Aswad's Love Fire riddim and Dennis Brown's iconic Promised Land vocal track. After relocating to London and establishing Alchemist Recording Studio, the EP came to fruition.
