12th Isle returns to the various artist compilation format with their latest release, building on the success of 2019’s 'Inkosi.' This new compilation functions as a club-focused mixtape, featuring six diverse tracks. Echo Party starts things off with a dub-heavy track, presented in an extended mix compared to the original CD-R version by Murray Collier (Dip Friso) & Hannan Jones. Italian artist Guizzi follows with a powerful downtempo piece, characterised by tight conga rhythms and a DK/RAMZi influence, fitting perfectly with the label’s aesthetic. Der Opium Queen delivers a dynamic dancefloor track with a nostalgic video game OST feel, reminiscent of Les Aeroplanes from Jamal Moss’s Mathematics label. On the B-side, Memotone offers a quirky freak-folk interlude, Lo Kindre provides a driving motorik beat, and Raf Reza brings a bleep-infused dub techno track from Toronto via Bangladesh.
