Tokyo Riddim Band - Canoe Boy / Canoe Dub
London-based Tokyo Riddim Band blends vibrant Japanese traditions with London’s eclectic soundscape. Featuring three generations of Japanese female musicians, they deliver dynamic live performances that merge reggae drums, funky bass, and smooth City Pop guitar with live dub effects. Following their debut single "Denshi Lenzi," they release "Canoe Boy," a hypnotic Japanese new wave reggae track originally written by punk pioneer PANTA for Tomoko Kuwae in 1980 but never released. Their rendition, featuring Prince Fatty’s deep dub style, offers a fresh, funky twist with siren machines, extended solos, and a groovy outro.
