Ex Wiish emerges as a fleeting dream, a mesmerising musical endeavor brought to life by Ben Shirken, a New York City-based sound artist and composer. Shirken, known as the founder of the innovative record label & performance series, 29 Speedway, has curated a platform for improvisational electronic music, guerrilla sound installations, and live multimedia performances, hosting renowned artists like Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Poncili Creación, and James K. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Shirken contributes to the acclaimed free jazz group 'Nu Jazz' with Dan Orlowski of Deli Girls. Ex Wiish's debut record, "Shards of Axel," takes inspiration from a story-based video game composition, immersing the listener into an unsettling, metallic landscape filled with digital noises, submerged cityscapes, and labyrinthine cable structures. A sonically satisfying journey through a captivating and disorienting world.
