These landmark recordings were issued for the first time outside of Morocco via Hive Mind Records as a double LP in September 2017 and sold out almost instantly, turning it into a highly sought after record with some seriously high resell prices.
Maalem Mahmoud Gania, a renowned figure in Morocco's musical landscape, stood as one of the most celebrated Gnawa musicians. Deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of sub-Saharan Africa, Gnawa represents a musical and spiritual tradition that has endured as a vibrant subculture within Moroccan society for centuries. Within its mesmerising rhythms and echoes of the blues, "Colours Of The Night" conjures an enchanting allure into its captivating melodies.
